Dr. Sylvain is a native Nevadan. He received his Bachelor of Science at Stanford University. He completed his Medical degree at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno. He then performed an internship in General Surgery followed by an Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Wayne State University Detroit Medical Center.

This was followed by completion of additional fellowships in Complex Adult Reconstructive Joint Surgery, as well as Spine Surgery at the University of California San Diego. Dr. Sylvain is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. His hobbies include sports, piano, theatre, and computers.
